Liam O’Neill, COO, Radcliffe Group
We have worked with Naomi and the Editorial Hub team for the last six months and have found the experience overwhelmingly positive. As a smaller, niche publisher we rely heavily on freelancers to support our managing editors and Nicola from the EH roster has proved an experienced, diligent resource integrating seamlessly with our wider team and even helping to drive our editorial standards upwards, and conversely our review times downwards. We look forward to continuing our work together.
Mark de Jongh, Publisher at River Publishers in The Netherlands
River Publishers use the services of the UK based The Editorial Hub for all our Journal Editorial Office activities. The personnel at The Editorial Hub have extensive knowledge in various journal publishing workflows, and making use of their experienced and skilled personnel has enabled us to grow our journals portfolio. Both we as publishers as well as our Editorial Board members are very satisfied about the productive and professional collaboration with The Editorial Hub. I have no hesitation in recommending The Editorial Hub to all scientific and academic publishing colleagues.
Professor Norman Noah, Editor-in-Chief, Epidemiology and Infection
I have been working now with the Editorial Hub for 3 years. I am delighted with their efficiency and assistance in running this international journal. They have been able to deal effectively with 10 Associate Editors, the Editorial Board, as well as the authors. Their staff, Naomi in particular, has always been on hand to help out not only with the running if the journal, but also with any problems with negotiating the intricacies of Manuscript Central! This has made life easier for someone who hasn’t taken that naturally to computers. I can recommend them highly.
Howard Browman, Editor-in-Chief of the ICES Journal of Marine Science
The ICES JMS has been using the Editorial Hub to manage the Journal’s virtual editorial office for 2.5 years. In addition to handling day-to-day manuscript flow, they also prepare thorough editorial office reports. We have been completely satisfied with the quality of their work and with their timeliness and attentiveness to our requests. They are always on top of things and keep the Journal running smoothly and efficiently. I have had exclusively positive feedback from our editorial board of 57 subject editors with respect to their interactions with the virtual editorial office managed by the Editorial Hub. Naomi Conneely has been our main contact person, but we have been equally satisfied with whoever on the Editorial Hub team has replaced her during absences. In short, we recommend Editorial Hub without reservation.
Adrian Moore and Lucy O’Brien, MIND Journal
We have been co-editing the philosophy journal MIND for nearly three years. Throughout that time there has been at least one member of the Editorial Hub acting as our Managing Editor. Recently, two members of the Editorial Hub have been acting together in that capacity, one assisting with the day-to-day running of the journal and managing the peer-review process on ScholarOne, the other overseeing the journal’s finances and helping with some of the larger questions of management policy that arise from time to time. They have been efficient, co-operative, and great to work with. In particular, they have been scrupulous about ensuring that they do not bother us about routine matters that can be dealt with in a standard way whereas they do always consult us about matters that require our input. We have been delighted with the support that we have received.
Cambridge University Press
The Cambridge Journals team currently uses the services of Editorial Hub for a number of our titles and we have been greatly impressed by the quality of their work. The team's knowledge of ScholarOne Manuscripts is incredibly comprehensive, as evidenced by their proficiency in running reports and training Editorial Board Members in the use of the system. Editorial Hub has been quick to win the confidence of our Editors and we have no reservations in recommending their services.
The Editorial Hub has provided an extremely high level of service for a number of CSIRO Publishing journals. The ease with which the team commenced work on the journals was impressive and a clear display of their experience in working with ScholarOne. The team demonstrated high levels of efficiency and responsiveness resulting in consistently positive feedback from our editorial boards. We would highly recommend their services and thank Steph, Naomi and their team for their flexibility and professionalism.
The Editorial Hub is extremely professional in its provision of peer review services for several of our international journals. Naomi and Steph are always willing to help and genuinely enjoy working with Editorial Panel members.
Contemporary Women’s Writing journal
Stephanie Sacharov has worked as Managing Editor of Contemporary Women's Writing since the launch of this Oxford University Press journal in 2007. She has not simply been a major asset to the journal but has proved absolutely indispensable. As Co-editor, I rely on Stephanie's impressive IT skills and am always grateful for her efficiency and helpfulness. It is a real pleasure working with her.
Stephanie and Naomi have been consistently helpful, flexible and professional in their approach. They understand my priorities and needs, and it has been a pleasure to work with them.
River Publishers is an academic publisher with a portfolio of Science & Technology books and journals. To assist with the publication of our journals we have been using the services of The Editorial Hub for the past two years. Being a small / medium sized publisher, we are delighted to be able to make use of the expertise which The Editorial Hub offer, effectively they run our Journal Editorial Office for us. The Editorial Hub has high quality staff who have good experience in how to set-up and manage the publication of academic journals in a professional manner.
The Editorial Hub team did an excellent job of managing our multi-contributor book program in ScholarOne. They are always professional and friendly as well as highly efficient. As a start-up publisher, not only was it comforting to know that this part of the editorial workflow was in safe hands but it allowed us to concentrate our limited resources on growing and managing other parts of the business. I would highly recommend their services.
The Geological Society
Working with Editorial Hub has been a pleasure – they are efficient and very professional. It’s been a positive experience and our authors and editors have found them supportive and friendly.
The Marine Biological Association
The Journal of the Marine Biological Association (JMBA), first published in 1887, is one of the world’s longest–running marine biological journals. In 2015 we decided to move from using an in-house Executive Editor to ‘out-sourcing’ the editorial processing work. We were recommended Editorial Hub (EH) by our publisher Cambridge University Press and, after some discussion with EH, decided to offer them a contract.
I have to say that I only have positive things to say about Ed Hub. They took on the work at a time when the MBA was also transitioning our relatively new sister journal, Marine Biodiversity Records, to another publisher as an OA journal. Liaising with EH to establish what needed doing was easy and Ed Hub were also able to suggest improvements in our manuscript processing. The JMBA Editor-in-Chief (EiC) has been delighted with the improvement in our processing time, which has improved significantly as well as with the professionalism of the EH staff, who are friendly and helpful and quick to chase up issues such as when manuscripts get ‘stuck’. They also liaise very efficiently with myself, the EiC and our Journals Management Board to ensure our manuscript processing is optimised.
The MBA Board of Trustees have been particularly pleased as we are now paying less than when we did all the work in-house but we are getting far more efficiency, which is good for the journal as well as for us as an organisation. My only real regret is that we did not discover EH sooner!
